Our impact is forever.
When we purchase land or secure a conservation easement, we’re protecting it forever. Easements ensure that land will not be developed and will maintain their historical use. This prevents fragmentation of ecosystem, keeps vital wildlife corridors intact, and, at times, supports local economies.
But protection is just part of the story. When we take full ownership of land, we’re able to actively restore it and deepen our impact even further. We help the land adapt, evolve, and strengthen, so it can thrive a century from now in a climate that will look very different from today. We call it “restoring forward” because it’s about taking lessons from the past and leveraging them to build a more resilient future.
We build our plans to support wildlife and human communities. And to make sure we’re on track, we continuously analyze data and monitor our progress. Sometimes we see immediate results—native plants returning, wildlife activity increasing. Other times, the complexity of nature humbles us. But when things don’t go as planned, we adjust, we learn, and we move forward, always focused on supporting ecosystems that benefit both wildlife and people. As a nonprofit with limited resources, this approach ensures that we’re investing in projects that yield tangible results.
