Wild Splendor 2016 Recap - Columbia Land Trust
Our annual fall gala took on a new look this fall as we raised funds (and glasses) for the nature of the northwest.

Columbia Land Trust celebrated the region’s curious nature at its annual gala and fundraising event, Wild Splendor. Attendees enjoyed a live auction, which included local tours, outings, and experiences including a beachside getaways and Snake River rafting excursions. We raised funds for northwest conservation by selling dry bags full of great prizes (thanks to Cascade Designs!), local beer and cider, and lucky golden salmon tickets. The premiere of our short film, As She Grows, told the story of how the Land Trust is helping conserve vast swaths of working forestland just south of Mount St. Helens. The video also explores the ways in which old growth forests inspire curiosity in the young and the young at heart. Watch the video here.

Thanks to our photographer, Brit Forbes, our volunteers, our Emerging Leaders Council, our sponsors including presenting sponsor Waste Connections, and all of our donors for making this year’s Wild Splendor a huge success.

At the event, we also shared photos northwest curiosities submitted by our staff and supporters. You can still share curiosities you observe in the natural world around you via social media. Tag your photos #OurCuriousNature on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and see what others have observed.
