[Virtual Event] Coffee & Cranes - Columbia Land Trust
Our Coffee & Cranes live event has ended, but you can view the full recording below!

Each fall we look forward to the return of thousands of sandhill cranes.  With their bright red heads, long slender legs, and distinctive prehistoric-sounding bugle calls, sandhill cranes attract the attention of avid birders and casual observers alike.

Since we weren’t able to get out for a tour to view the cranes this year, we sat down with Columbia Land Trust’s Natural Area Manager Dan Friesz for a virtual presentation to learn. Dan shared his expertise on this unique species and details on how he is experimenting with over 400 acres of farmed crops in the Vancouver Lake Lowlands, one of the only sandhill crane habitats of its kind within city limits in the United States.
