Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, Willapa Bay
We're teaming up with REI for a day of kayaking on Willapa Bay!

Encompassing more than 260 square miles, Willapa Bay is the second-largest estuary on the Pacific Coast. Join us this summer for a kayak tour led by REI guides to see the Willapa Bay’s quiet islands and diverse shorelines up close.

We’ll be joined by Columbia Land Trust Land Steward Austin Tomlinson who will help identify native plants and wildlife along the way. As we paddle around the Willapa Bay Wildlife Refuge, we’ll learn how Columbia Land Trust is protecting the diverse array of coastal landscapes and the conservation threats and priorities in this region.

MODERATE: Must be able to physically operate your own kayak and to be comfortable with the possibility of getting your feet wet! Paddle time is estimated at 4 hours.

REI will provide all necessary equipment and gear for kayaking. Transportation is provided and will leave form the Kelso Park & Ride promptly at 9:00 a.m. Snacks, lunch, and water are also provided.

Please note: A list of items to bring and a full itinerary will be sent to you via email 1 week prior to the tour date. If you register anyone other than yourself for a Columbia Land Trust tour, you are confirming that the other person(s) you are registering are aware of and also agree to all the terms and conditions of the tour liability agreement (attached below).

This tour is sold out. If you would like to be placed on a wait list, please contact Tanya Mikkelson at tmikkelson@columbialandtrust.org or 360-567-1577.
