GIVE LAND - Columbia Land Trust
As a land trust, we know a thing or two about real estate. If you have property that no longer suits your needs, you can spare yourself the hassle of selling and donate the land to Columbia Land Trust. From there, we’ll evaluate the land and either conserve it or use the sale proceeds to protect our region’s vital lands and waters. We accept all kinds of real estate, including houses and investment properties. Your land doesn’t have to look like a nature preserve to support our mission.
GOOD FOR NATURE

We accept two types of real estate gifts:

1. Protected lands – lands that a donor would like us to permanently conserve. Our decisions to accept these donations are based on their alignment with our strategic conservation goals.

2. Trade lands – gifts of land that the supporter allows us to sell so that we can put the proceeds towards our most important conservation initiatives.

GOOD FOR YOU

The process of donating land is easy, convenient, and can offer you significant tax benefits. You can receive an income tax deduction for up to the fair market value of the real estate and you’ll pay no capital gains tax on the property transfer.
