Mason Bee Adoption Day - Columbia Land Trust
Kickstart your garden’s ecosystem by bringing home a mason bee starter colony— and the knowledge needed to care for it.

Columbia Land Trust is excited to announce our annual Mason Bee Adoption Day, taking place Saturday, March 4th, 2023. Join us at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington for a presentation by Land Trust Board Member Janet Gifford on best practices for mason bee care, followed by the collection of your own mason bee starter colony! Each colony will contain 20 cocoons with a mix of male and female mason bees. Mason bee houses are not included, but guests will learn about where to source these and how to care for them long-term.

Sign up for one of our hour long in-person sessions here:

Space is limited, so if you’re not able to RSVP for one of our sessions you can email events@columbialandtrust.org to be added to a waitlist. If space opens up at our Adoption Day event, we will email you in the order your wait list request was received.

If you’re not able to join us for any of the sessions, we’ve provided below a list of reputable sources for purchasing mason bees, plus a recorded webinar on hosting mason bees presented by Janet Gifford in 2021.
