Land Donations

Landowners are key to our success.

We wouldn’t be here without landowners who care about the future of the Northwest. If you have property that no longer suits your needs, you can spare yourself the hassle of selling and donate the land to Columbia Land Trust. From there, we’ll evaluate the property and either conserve it or use the sale proceeds to protect our region’s most vital lands and waters. We accept all kinds of real estate, including houses and investment properties. Your land doesn’t have to look like a nature preserve to support our mission. We accept two types of real estate gifts:

  • Dark green icon of a magnifying glass with a minus sign for the zoom out function.

Protected lands: gifts of land that a donor would like us to permanently conserve. Our decision to accept a specific donation is based on its alignment with our strategic conservation goals.

  • Dark green tree icon

Tradlands: gifts of land that the supporter allows us to sell so that we can put the proceeds toward our most important conservation initiatives.

If you own property that you are interested in donating, we’d love to hear from you and explore how it might fit into our 25-year Conservation Strategy.
