Join us Thursday, September 19th, as we kick off fall with a day of giving benefiting the communities of Southwest Washington
This fall we’re taking a look at what it means to have a sense of place in a rapidly changing world. More than ever, we look to nature for our health, happiness, and well-being. That’s why through our bold Conservation Agenda, we’re collaborating with local counties and cities to make sure the future of Southwest Washington is vibrant, thriving, and nature-rich. We’re ensuring that we always have a place to disconnect and recharge—and a place for the region’s amazing wildlife to swim, fly, crawl, and meander.
On Thursday, September 19th, the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington is hosting Give More 24!, an annual day of giving when hundreds of people will go online and donate in support of their favorite causes, including the environment. This is a unique opportunity for people in Southwest Washington to show their love for the local organizations working hard to help improve their communities. It’s also a way for Oregonians who enjoy all that Southwest Washington has to offer to show their support.
This year, our goal is to raise $9,000 in a single day, fitting for 9/9/19. To help us get there, longtime supporter Teresa Pauletto has generously committed to match our first $3,500 raised, dollar for dollar.
Each dollar donated on Thursday will help us meet the objectives outlined across five ecoregions spanning the Columbia River. This includes planting trees and restoring rivers in the Coast Range, expanding our Backyard Habitat Certification Program in the Portland-Vancouver metro area, and conserving thousands of more acres of natural lands that would otherwise be lost to development and fragmentation.
Throughout the day on September 19th, we’ll keep you posted on our progress toward our goal via social media, while sharing the examples of beloved Southwest Washington green spaces that we’re actively working to conserve and expand. We hope you’ll be inspired to lend your voice and your support for this important work.
