Picnic in the Park - Columbia Land Trust
Our 2015 annual meeting highlights and slideshow.

This past weekend, we held our annual meeting and summer picnic at Cathedral Park in St. Johns. We had more than 100 attendees, including many certified by the Backyard Habitat Certification Program, volunteers, board and advisory council members, young ambassadors, and staff members.

Janet Gifford was newly elected to the Board of Directors, Steve Shields, Carolyn Vogt, and Debbie Craig were re-elected, all to a three-year term. We are pleased to have these members represent Columbia Land Trust.

Backyard Habitat Certification Program Manager Gaylen Beatty took folks through a St. Johns’ backyard to demonstrate how urban habitats are providing corridors to the  nation’s largest urban forest just outside of our city. Steven Clark, professor of biology at Clark College, led a nature walk through the park for critter and tree identification.

We’d like to give a special thanks to Oakshire Brewing for donating beer, Kathy Corwin of the Corwin Beverage Company for donating drinks, and Moonstruck Chocolate Co. for allowing us to use its parking lot for the event. And thanks to everyone who attended!

Don’t forget to purchase new Columbia Land Trust swag, including t-shirts, sweaters, water bottles, tote bags, and hats. Call Sarah Richards at (360) 213-1212, or email srichards@columbialandtrust.org to place your order.
